FAQs
We believe each student has the potential to achieve in the right environment. Learning differences sometimes make it difficult for them to learn by traditional instructional methods. Learning strengths and areas for growth vary from child to child. We believe that individualized instruction is the most effective way to maximize each child’s strengths while also addressing their growth areas.
The admissions policy is fairly broad and involves an in-depth examination of a wide range of criteria. Many of our students have mild to moderate learning differences; however, others just need support and accommodations for ADD, ADHD, OCD, and other behavioral disorders. Additional profiles include dyslexia, dyscalculia, executive dysfunction, auditory processing disorder, high functioning autism or some combination of these. The one thing that all our students have in common is greater success with an individualized curriculum and small classroom size. We are not a therapeutic school, and we do not have specialized programs primarily for psychiatric diagnosis or treatment.

Yes! Most of our graduates continue to college (4-year, 2-year, and community college) and we support them in considering options that best fit their learning profiles and level of independence as a teenager. We provide opportunities for leadership and have a comprehensive post-secondary planning system setup for all upper school students which includes college visits and student discussions with their office of differences. We assist in narrowing down options, the application process, and essay writing. Our college counselor works with students and families to navigate the college search.

Our goal is to produce highly skilled students who have a positive attitude toward themselves. They have greater self-esteem, are more goal-oriented, are college-bound and ready to move to the next level, have explored some careers, and are career-minded and, in general, better global citizens.
